ぼくは、体は元気ですが、気持ちがぼちぼちです。
悩んでるわけじゃないんですが、考えなきゃいけないことがたくさんあって、むぉーっとしてます。
さて、ひっさびさのぼくの新刊、「即戦力の実務がしっかり学べる Google Analytics 4の教科書」が2023年7月1日に発売になります。

正直、めっちゃ大変でした。
Google Analyticsが大きくリニューアルいたしまして、いちから勉強し直しです。
最も大きな変更は、アクセス解析の軸が「ユーザー」に変更になったことです。
これまでは「セッション」が解析の軸だったのですが、それだと「1回のアクセス」としてまとめて計測するため、ユーザーのアクションをすべて拾いきれないという欠点がありました。
しかし、ユーザーを軸として、計測の最小単位が「イベント」になることで、スクロールやクリックなどを細かく計測できるようになりました。
とまぁ、簡単に書いていますが、これを深く落とし込み、消化して、言葉として書き起こすまで、ものすごく悩みました。
Google Analyticsは、普段から使ってはいるものの、読者に伝えるべきこと、伝えるべき順序を考える場合に、一旦知識をリセットしなければなりません。
自分が理解していることが正しいのかどうか、定義がどう変わったのか、変更がどのような影響を与えて、ユーザーに何を強いて、何が楽になるのか…。
調べて、検証して、理解して、言葉にする。
編集さんには、すごく迷惑をかけましたが、とてもやりがいのある仕事でした。
