女性が高野山の代わりにお参りする場所として、天野山金剛寺というお寺があります。
天野山金剛寺は、女人高野とも呼ばれ、聖武天皇の勅願により行基が開いたと言われ、弘法大師も修業したと伝えられています。
南北朝時代には、南朝方の勅願寺とされ後村上天皇の行在所となったこともあるそうです。
平安時代後期以降の素晴らしい仏像がたくさんあって、国宝や重要文化財にしていされているものがざくざくあります。

そんな天野山金剛寺への参道として、天野街道が整備されています。
うちのそばには、天野街道の起点があるので、そこから天野山金剛寺まで散歩してきました。
大阪狭山市を南北に走る陶器山の尾根に沿って南に向かい、そのまま河内長野市にある金剛寺までつながっています。
全長10kmほどの短い街道。
大阪府内とは思えないのどかさがかなりいい感じです。
