The post 大坂城の櫓 first appeared on Studio Nomade.]]> 桜の様子を見に大坂城に寄ったついでに、今公開中の櫓を見学してきました。
大坂城の建物は、石垣を除いて全部戦後のものだとばっかり思い込んでいました。
江戸時代に建てられたものも残ってるんですねー。
大阪出身なのにお恥ずかしい（笑）。
今回見学したのは、大手口にある多聞櫓と千貫櫓、焔硝櫓。
多聞櫓と千貫櫓は、大手口を超えて侵入してきた敵を迎え撃つための櫓です。
装飾は一切なく、梁や柱はむき出しで、武者走りと言われる回廊と兵士の詰め所で構成されています。
銃眼や槍落としなど城防衛ための設備がありました。

焔硝櫓は、火薬庫とのことです。
江戸時代は、火薬の管理に手を焼いていたとのことです。
火薬は、石造建築に密閉してしまうと湿気によって使い物にならなくなり、通気性の良い木造建築では火事や落第で爆発する危険があることから、通気性の良い堅牢な石造の櫓を作ったとのことでした。
今回は、思わぬ発見があって楽しい散策となりました。
